Arc House opens for business

The first customers walked into Arc House this morning as the Lounge @ Arc House café opened for business.

Busy commuters nipped in to grab a coffee on the go as they made their way into Harrow on the Hill underground station and into Harrow Town centre whilst others took a more relaxed approach and took their seats inside the café enjoying the rustic furniture and the green surrounding of the former Lowlands recreation ground.

Lounge @ Arc House offers a delicious, eclectic, nutritious menu at affordable prices including seasonal produce, Fair-trade tea and coffee, a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy breakfasts including yoghurt, porridge and muesli pots and homemade cakes. And for those looking for lunch options, the café offers a variety of baguettes and hot toasted sandwiches.

To mark this week’s opening, a number of FREE celebratory activities are taking place. Today visitors to Arc House enjoyed a free mini-manicure courtesy of Harrow College’s Image Salon. Between 7am-9am, visitors were also offered a free coffee. This offer will continue throughout the week as will the activities which will also include basketball, table tennis and face-painting.

Councillor Jeff Anderson (Rayners Lane ward) was amongst today’s opening day customers and enjoyed a tasty lunch. He said “It’s really pleasant to sit and see local residents enjoying themselves in the park area”. He was accompanied by Councillor Sue Anderson (Greenhill Ward) who added “I’m really happy the café is now open. It’s great that people can come and enjoy a nice green park area and have lunch or just a tea come rain or shine”.

Meera Siyani is Project Manager of the Lounge Café at Arc House. She said “It’s great to see the café finally open. We look forward to welcoming lots of new visitors over the coming days and weeks. Our hope for the future is that we can make this place a hub for training opportunities in skills such as customer service, barista training and more”.

Lounge @ Arc House will be open seven days a week. Opening hours are 7am-7pm (Mon-Fri), 9am-4pm (Sat) and 10am-4pm (Sun). From 21-24 September, visitors can enjoy a free coffee between the hours of 7am-9am.
