The students highlighted how lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, stress, alcohol, and smoking affected one’s health and fitness levels. They distributed free factsheets on ‘healthy living’ and the role of diet in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Attendees were offered free blood pressure and heart rate monitoring, grip tests and BMI calculations.
Students encouraged the ’30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week’ scheme to incorporate exercise into daily living, provided free fitness demonstrations, healthy eating plans and shared a wide range of classes, clubs and venues offering exercise opportunities in Harrow.
Local fitness companies Everyone Active and The Gym were also present at the event and offered discounts on memberships to attendees. Attendees said that they found the event informative and helpful.
